What you will do:

  • Provide psychological advice and consultancy to school staff, ensuring effective provision for the developmental and learning needs of children and young people.
  • Engage in projects and tasks that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Consult and collaborate with other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing your insights and expertise.
  • Support the Principal Educational Psychologist with professional psychological services as per Council and Educational Psychology Service policies.
  • Offer training and development to school staff, parents, and caretakers to effectively manage social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Remain well-versed in legislative frameworks, ensuring all practices align with Council policies and national guidelines.
  • Continuously develop your professional knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the role, ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of service users.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for registration as an Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council.
  • A good honours degree in Psychology and a postgraduate qualification at Masters or Doctoral level.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs, in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of current approaches, tools, and techniques used by Educational Psychologists.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
