Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of assessments, including Best Interests Meetings, Age Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, and others related to adult safeguarding.

  • Apply and interpret relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

  • Handle complex and sensitive cases with professionalism and empathy, delivering clear, outcome-driven recommendations.

  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records, producing reports in line with statutory and professional standards.

  • Travel to various assessment locations to meet clients in their settings, ensuring accessibility and person-centred service delivery.


Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist (Part 6 of the register under the Health Professions Order 2001).

  • Current HCPC registration is mandatory.

  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for local travel.

  • Experience working within health and social care systems, with a solid understanding of local authority statutory duties.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage caseloads, and produce high-quality written assessments.
