What you will do:

  • Provide reflective supervision to safeguarding staff in line with statutory and local procedures, ensuring their growth and adherence to best practices.
  • Guarantee the consistent implementation of safeguarding policies, procedures, and thresholds to protect children and families.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of practice, offering constructive feedback and improvement plans where necessary.
  • Identify learning needs and support continuous professional development through recognised CPD activities.
  • Lead or contribute to internal safeguarding training sessions or workshops, promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Support in managing complex safeguarding cases, strategy meetings, and multi-agency conferences to ensure thorough oversight and action.
  • Liaise effectively with external partners, including police, health, and education, for cohesive inter-agency safeguarding.
  • Escalate significant concerns and incidents to the Safeguarding Lead as required.
  • Audit casework and contribute to safeguarding reviews, including Section 42 Enquiries.
  • Report on safeguarding performance indicators, ensuring the team meets CQC, Ofsted, and local safeguarding board standards.
