Is it time to use your CAMHS experience in a new, community-based role?
If you’re a registered mental health professional with experience supporting children and young people, your skills are urgently needed. Through our Step Forward programme—developed in partnership with Plymouth City Council—we’re offering a unique opportunity for CAMHS Practitioners to work directly with vulnerable young people as they transition out of residential care and into supported placements.
This role is about more than assessment and intervention. It’s about being a consistent therapeutic presence during a critical turning point—supporting emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and long-term resilience.
Why Join the Step Forward Team?
You’ll work as part of a multi-agency, trauma-informed support network, delivering targeted mental health interventions while building strong, trust-based relationships with the young people in your care. Your clinical voice will be valued, your approach respected, and your input vital.
What You’ll Receive:
✅ From £840 per week (depending on caseload)
✅ Flexible working and caseload management
✅ Access to reflective supervision and peer support
✅ Bespoke training in trauma-informed and therapeutic care
✅ 24/7 support from a multidisciplinary team
