What you will do:

  • Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and identify suitable equipment for adults in line with Strength Based practice across seven prisons in Staffordshire.

  • Work under the direction of the Team Leader to manage an active caseload, performing assessments and contributing to the development and execution of care plans for adults in prison and approved premises settings.

  • Identify and assess risks associated with Moving and Handling and contribute to implementing effective risk reduction strategies.

  • Offer Occupational Therapy interventions for adults with less complex needs, including recommending adaptations and equipment, planning rehabilitation programmes, and offering necessary counselling and advice.

  • Support the first contact service with Occupational Therapy advice on initial enquiries.

  • Foster partnerships with other agencies and Local Authority departments to enhance service delivery.

  • Regularly review services provided in alignment with Departmental Procedure to ensure quality standards and cost-effectiveness.

  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with departmental policies, preparing reports when necessary.

  • Engage in ongoing training and development activities to keep your knowledge and skills current.


Essential Criteria:

  • All applicants must be HCPC registered.

  • Possession of a full driving licence is required.
