What We’re Looking For – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

The ideal candidate will: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Be a recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
  • Have some experience supporting children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, or voluntary settings
  • Be calm, empathetic, and proactive in the classroom
  • Have a genuine passion for inclusive education and child development
  • Be exploring a long-term path in teaching, therapy, or mental health support

What You’ll Be Doing - Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, or emotional and social difficulties
  • Working alongside teachers to adapt lesson content and resources to suit individual learners
  • Supporting children in developing communication skills, confidence, and independence
  • Helping manage routines and behaviour using positive strategies
  • Reporting progress and observations to the SENCo and wider teaching team
