Production Supervisor
Location: Fenton
Hours:Monday to Thursday 7am- 4pm, Fridays 7am- 1:30pm
Salary: up to £35,000 per annum
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to take charge of day-to-day operations within a busy facility specialising in the manufacture of PVC windows and doors. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for driving production targets, maintaining strict quality and safety standards, and ensuring smooth collaboration across departments. You'll lead a dedicated team on the shop floor, play a key role in streamlining processes, and support ongoing operational improvements across the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations on the production floor, directing personnel involved in the fabrication of vinyl-based window and door systems
- Track workflow progress to meet order deadlines and production targets
- Uphold strict quality assurance protocols through frequent product checks and continuous process evaluation
- Enforce workplace safety standards and cultivate a culture focused on hazard prevention and employee well-being
- Liaise with maintenance staff to guarantee optimal performance of all machinery and tools
- Support onboarding and skill development initiatives for new and existing team members
- Refine operational procedures to boost output efficiency and minimize material waste
- Maintain open lines of communication with departments such as supply chain, engineering, and distribution to ensure cohesive operations
- Document key production metrics, including throughput, downtime, and material stock levels, with precision
- Diagnose and address production-related disruptions promptly to minimize delays
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, preferably within the PVC window/door industry
- Demonstrated success in overseeing manufacturing operations in a supervisory or equivalent capacity
- In-depth understanding of materials and techniques used in PVC window and door fabrication
- Effective leader with a track record of guiding teams and optimizing workforce performance
- Skilled in identifying issues and implementing practical, detail-oriented solutions
- Well-versed in regulatory safety practices and quality assurance protocols
- Capable of thriving in high-paced environments while maintaining production timelines
- Strong communicator with the ability to foster collaboration across departments
- Competent in manufacturing systems and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
