Graduate English Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification
KPi Education are on the lookout for a Graduate English Teacher Assistant who holds:
- Graduated or due to Graduate with a 2:1 or higher in an English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or other related subjects (Essential)
- Holds strong A-Levels and GCSE’s particular in English (Essential)
- Experience working in a school setting or experience mentoring or tutoring role (Desirable)
- As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you should have a passion for education and a strong desire to pursue a long-term career in education
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students and staff
Graduate English Teaching Assistant – The Role
As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you’ll be immersed in school life and gain first-hand experience of what it means to support, teach, and inspire young learners. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Observing lessons and offer offering targeted support to pupils who are struggling or to stretch high-achieving students even further
- Deliver 1-1 or small group catch up sessions, focusing on literacy comprehensions and creative writing skills
- Work closely with the class teacher to develop and create engaging resources
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour in a calm, positive and constructive way
