Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to £550 per week
Start Date: ASAP (potential to become permanent from September)

A warm and inclusive primary school in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time, term-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate to gain meaningful, practical experience in a supportive educational setting.

The position is available for an immediate start, with the potential to become a permanent role from September.

Role Overview:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Pay: Up to £550 per week

  • Contract: Until the end of the academic year (with potential to go permanent)

  • Location: Stoke-on-Trent

  • Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and emotional regulation needs

  • Assist in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans

  • Work alongside educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other external specialists

  • Support students’ social and emotional development in a nurturing, structured environment

  • Gain valuable, practical experience aligned with future training or postgraduate study in psychology, SEN, or therapy

Candidate Requirements:

  • A recent Psychology graduate (2:1 or higher preferred)

  • Genuinely passionate about supporting children with SEN and their wider development

  • Patient, empathetic, and confident in building positive relationships

  • Experience in education, care, youth work, or similar roles is desirable but not essential
