A leading secondary school in Barnet is currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with students requiring additional support, while developing your own professional skills within a nurturing and well-structured school environment.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Full-time position | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Earn up to £600 per week (paid on a weekly basis)
  • Support students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, communication challenges, and sensory processing difficulties
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support, guided by SEN professionals and school staff
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning and behaviour support plans
  • Promote students’ independence, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work in partnership with educational psychologists, therapists, and SENCOs to meet each student’s specific needs

Candidate Profile – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, or a related discipline
  • A strong interest in supporting young people with additional needs in a secondary school environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, care work, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
