Social Worker – Safeguarding & Support Team (Hereford, UK)

Your Key Responsibilities

Carry out detailed assessments to identify and respond to the needs of children and families

Develop and review care plans to ensure safety and long-term positive outcomes
-
Engage in multi-agency collaboration to deliver holistic, integrated support

Attend and contribute to child protection conferences and core group meetings
-
Present cases in court proceedings when necessary, including report preparation
-
Maintain up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements

Provide direct support and guidance to families to encourage sustainable change

Engage in reflective practice and continuing professional development
What We’re Looking For
-
A recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., BA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or CSS)

Registration with Social Work England
-
Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in statutory children's services

Strong expertise in child protection and safeguarding
-
Knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory duties, and best practice standards
-
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
-
The ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively under pressure

A commitment to ongoing learning and improvement
