What you will do:

- Manage Complex Cases: Hold and lead on complex Child in Need, Child Protection, and care proceedings cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Mentor and Support Staff: Provide guidance, mentoring, and informal supervision to junior social workers, family support workers, and students.
- Lead Safeguarding Practice: Identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns. Contribute to strategy discussions and decision-making.
- Undertake Statutory Assessments: Complete high-quality assessments using evidence-based tools to inform planning and risk management.
- Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with schools, police, health, and voluntary sector partners to coordinate support for children and families.
- Court and Legal Work: Prepare and present high-quality reports for court proceedings and represent the local authority in legal settings when required.
- Promote Best Practice: Model excellent social work practice and contribute to service improvement, audits, and team development.
- Chair Meetings and Lead Planning: Chair Child in Need meetings and support planning forums as delegated by the Team Manager.
