What you will do:
- Chairing looked after children reviews, focusing on overseeing and quality assuring the planning and review process for each young person.
- Proactively understanding and promoting the young person’s voice, driving plans that are aspirational and support them to achieve stability and permanence.
- Conducting face-to-face visits with young people between every looked after review meeting and ensuring IRO midway reviews are conducted to track the progression of young people’s plans.
- Engaging in face-to-face looked after reviews in Barnsley, following best practices for effective meetings.
- Bringing substantial experience in statutory social work teams, particularly in working with looked after children and families.
- Utilising your experience in chairing complex meetings and working within a multi-agency framework.
- Applying a thorough understanding of the legal framework related to looked after children, including Care Planning Regulations and the duties and responsibilities outlined in the IRO Handbook.
