About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Humanities Academic Mentor to join a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Hammersmith. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for graduates or those considering teacher training to gain hands-on experience working alongside expert teachers in History, Geography, and other Humanities subjects.

As a Humanities Academic Mentor, you will support students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, helping them build confidence, develop critical thinking, and improve academic outcomes. You’ll provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, assist in lesson preparation, and contribute to the overall learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver focused academic support sessions for Humanities students, including History, Geography, and related subjects
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Support students with coursework, exam preparation, and study techniques
  • Monitor student progress and help develop strategies to overcome learning barriers
  • Contribute to creating a positive and motivating learning environment

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A Humanities graduate or someone with strong academic credentials in History, Geography, or related subjects
  • An enthusiastic and patient individual with a genuine passion for education
  • Someone seeking practical experience before teacher training or exploring a career in education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with young people
  • Experience tutoring or volunteering in schools is a plus but not essential
