What you will do:
- Lead on complex and high-risk cases involving children in long-term care, ensuring timely and effective care planning and permanency outcomes.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and informal supervision to less experienced social workers and students, promoting high standards of practice.
- Support service improvement through audits, reflective practice, and feedback on casework quality.
- Work in partnership with professionals from education, health, and other services to support the needs of looked-after children.
- Prepare high-quality reports and present evidence in family court proceedings when required.
- Chair and contribute to professional meetings and step in for the Team Manager when necessary.
- Lead on thematic or specialist areas within the team, contributing to innovation and best practice development.
