Locum Social Worker within Duty and Assessment in South Devon UK earning £38 hourly Ongoing.
Full Time position with a mix of office-based duties available five days a week during duty weeks and three days a week during non-duty weeks. This is a remarkable opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the scenic beauty of South Devon.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful and positive relationships with children, young people, and families; working closely with them to achieve outcomes that are family-led, strengths-based, and aim for safety and stability, keeping them safe through their childhood and beyond. Currently, the Local Authority is working under an Ofsted Improvement Plan, so we need experienced and capable social workers who can share best practices across the service.
What you will do:
- Conduct Child and Family Assessments to determine the support needed by children and families.
- Carry out section 47 Child Protection enquiries when necessary to assess whether a child needs protection or should be taken into care.
- Collaborate with a team of Social Workers, ASYEs, and Family Practitioners, managed and supported by Team Managers, to provide comprehensive support.
- Focus on direct interaction with children and families to ensure timely intervention.
- Attend to any emergencies or section 47 cases that arise.
