Join Darlington Borough Council's Assessment and Safeguarding Service, and become part of an experienced team making a real difference to the lives of children and families. This locality-based service consists of five dedicated Assessment & Safeguarding Teams working within the borough. From handling child and family assessments to supporting Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and managing care proceedings, your work will span all areas of child welfare. We utilise a relational and restorative practice model to support our community. With 37 hours per week, you will also have the benefit of TOIL for any additional hours worked. Experience the flexibility of our hybrid model, with both office space and home working options available based on your schedule. A work laptop, mobile phone, and personal safety device will ensure you are well equipped. Access to the council's workforce training programme and regular reflective supervision by your Team Manager is provided to support your professional growth.

What you will do:

- Conduct comprehensive Child & Families Assessments from the point of referral.
- Provide ongoing support and intervention under Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children frameworks.
- Manage public and private care proceedings with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Engage in relational and restorative practice to support children and families.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across the borough to ensure the best outcomes for children.
