What you will do:

- Act as the lead professional in safeguarding cases, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly and in line with child protection procedures, escalating issues when necessary.
- Undertake thorough assessments to identify risks and needs, using robust analysis to develop clear, outcome-focused plans with SMART targets.
- Engage directly with children, young people, and their families to build trusting, empowering relationships that facilitate positive change.
- Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to share information securely and make informed decisions regarding intervention and support.
- Prepare detailed, child-focused reports and plans for various forums, including child protection conferences and court proceedings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, decisions, and actions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safeguarding practices.
- Support the MASH Team Manager with additional duties such as prioritising referrals based on risk and need, and providing advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.

This role is based at a police building on Westoe Road, Tyne, Wear, and requires both an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Police vetting.
