Key Responsibilities:

• Case Management: Handle a caseload of 16–18 children looked after, ensuring their needs are assessed and appropriately addressed.

• Court Proceedings: Participate in legal processes including the revocation of care orders, contact disputes, and adoption cases.

• Report Writing: Prepare and present detailed reports and care plans for Family, County, and High Court hearings.

• Holistic Assessments: Conduct comprehensive evaluations that consider the child’s development within both immediate and extended family networks.

• Statutory Compliance: Adhere to all legal requirements, council policies, and safeguarding procedures.

• Record Keeping: Maintain clear, detailed, and timely documentation in line with best practice and regulatory standards.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.

• Registration: Registered with Social Work England.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in children's social care.

• Professional Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of child protection legislation and the needs of looked after children.

• Legal Expertise: Working knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures affecting children in care and legal proceedings.
