What you will do:
- Take the helm as a leader and supervise the nursing team, acting as both a role model and mentor to junior staff.
- Guide staff professional development through effective clinical leadership, teaching, and sharing of knowledge and best practices.
- Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring patient-focused and efficient processes.
- Monitor and evaluate care plans, ensuring adherence to NMC guidelines and hospital protocols for the highest quality of care.
- Stand ready to provide direct clinical care when needed, maintaining a visible and supportive presence on the ward.
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, focusing on safety, dignity, and positive patient outcomes.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of specific therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Manage daily administrative tasks including nursing assignments, shift coordination, and staff scheduling, ensuring smooth operations.
- Support the induction and ongoing training of new and existing staff by facilitating relevant e-learning and in-person training sessions.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and communicative team culture, promoting openness and reflective practice.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding regulations, keeping patient care and safety as top priorities.
- Liaise with doctors, administrators, and the multidisciplinary team for seamless care delivery and coordination.
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to the hospital’s quality improvement initiatives to uphold its prestigious “Good” CQC rating.
