What you will do:

- Provide expert advice on safeguarding issues, policies, procedures, and clinical practice, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks.
- Lead, supervise, train, and offer specialist advice in managing adult safeguarding.
- Support employees across services to enhance safeguarding activities and workforce competencies.
- Guide staff in making lawful decisions under the Mental Capacity Act within the context of adult safeguarding.
- Collaborate with the Adult Safeguarding Team in supporting the Associate Director of Community Health and Social Care.
- Utilize your specialist knowledge to supervise, provide guidance, and conduct training within the Adult Safeguarding Team.
- Represent Health and Social Care at multi-agency meetings regarding safeguarding issues.
- Contribute to training, governance, and the development of safeguarding processes and projects.
- Participate in the Out of Hours Adult Safeguarding Service Manager rota as required.

Legal and professional responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate records of safeguarding supervision and adhere to legislation and local policies.
- Promote evidence-based practice and good record-keeping standards.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of safeguarding legislation and guidelines.
- Ensure your professional growth through regular support and supervision with the Head of Adult Safeguarding.

Essential criteria:

- Professional Social Work Qualification and current registration with Social Work England, NMC, or HCPC.
- Post-qualification training in Adult Safeguarding and relevant professional experience.
- Strong advocacy skills for vulnerable adults and policy development expertise.
- Exceptional communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
