  • Part-time: 10 hours per week (5 hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
    Pay Rates:
  • PAYE: £16.93 per hour
  • Umbrella: £22.05 per hour

About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join a dynamic team based in County Durham. This role involves delivering engaging, high-quality teaching both in person and through remote learning across the county. You'll play a key role in shaping learners' educational journeys and helping them achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of learning programmes.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to prospective learners, helping them choose suitable courses.
  • Attend recruitment and enrolment events, assisting with course selection and promotion.
  • Conduct initial learner assessments and develop tailored individual learning plans.
  • Prepare course content, lesson plans, and learning materials, integrating English, maths, and key values including equality, safeguarding, and sustainability.
  • Deliver inspiring and inclusive teaching, adapting methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Provide additional learning support and make reasonable adjustments for learners with additional needs.
  • Assess learner progress through both formative and summative methods.
  • Support learners in preparing for examinations and final assessments.
  • Liaise with employers where appropriate to review learner progress.

Applicant Requirements

  • A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (DTLLS, CertEd or equivalent).
  • A relevant vocational, professional, or degree-level qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and ideally one level above the subject taught).
  • Substantial experience teaching post-16 and adult learners.
  • Proven experience supporting learners with additional needs or challenging behaviour.
