What you will do:
- Lead, manage, and motivate a dynamic team of social workers, ensuring high-quality supervision and support for both experienced staff and newly qualified workers.
- Develop effective partnerships with other council services and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people in care.
- Allocate cases within statutory timescales, ensuring assessments and reviews have clear objectives and outcomes.
- Foster the personal and professional development of team members through performance reviews and tailored development plans.
- Utilize team performance data to monitor standards, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Contribute to budget management by overseeing expenditures and maintaining staffing levels through effective recruitment and selection processes.
- Chair strategy, review and planning meetings relevant to the role.
- Stay updated with current regulations, Council policies, and best practices to maintain high professional standards.
- Support the Group Manager and cover for other Team Managers as needed.
