What you will do:

• Lead, manage, and motivate a dynamic team of social workers, ensuring high-quality supervision and support for both experienced staff and newly qualified workers.
• Develop effective partnerships with other council services and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people in care.
• Allocate cases within statutory timescales, ensuring assessments and reviews have clear objectives and outcomes.
• Foster the personal and professional development of team members through performance reviews and tailored development plans.
• Utilize team performance data to monitor standards, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute to budget management by overseeing expenditures and maintaining staffing levels through effective recruitment and selection processes.
• Chair strategy, review and planning meetings relevant to the role.
• Stay updated with current regulations, Council policies, and best practices to maintain high professional standards.
• Support the Group Manager and cover for other Team Managers as needed.
