Senior Planner New Staff Role!Location: Farringdon Salary: Generous salary or contract day rate inside IR35 Working Pattern: Hybrid Working Sector: Infrastructure / Construction / MedicalWe are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and well-established project delivery environment working on high-profile schemes across London and the South East.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ASTA Powerproject, excellent NEC contract knowledge especially NEC 4, and a proven background in developing, managing, and reporting project programmes across complex infrastructure and construction projects.Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using ASTA PowerprojectProduce baseline programmes, progress updates, recovery programmes, and look-ahead schedulesWork closely with project managers, commercial teams, design teams, and site management to ensure programme alignment and successful deliveryMonitor project progress and identify risks, delays, and opportunities for programme improvementCarry out critical path analysis and provide mitigation strategies where requiredSupport tender planning and pre-construction activities, including sequencing and methodology reviewsPrepare and present programme reports for internal and client meetingsEnsure programmes comply with contract requirements, milestones, and reporting obligationsManage change control and assess programme impacts associated with variations and compensation eventsSupport claims preparation and extension of time assessments under NEC contracts especially NEC 4 Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within infrastructure or construction sectorsStrong infrastructure project background is essentialAdvanced proficiency in ASTA Powerproject is essentialStrong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC ContractsExperience delivering large-scale infrastructure, build, commercial, or complex engineering projects especially NEC 4Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project controlsAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical informationExcellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skillsStrong reporting and presentation abilitiesCompetent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel Highly Desirable Experience Previous experience delivering healthcare, hospital, NHS, medical, or blue-light sector construction projectsExperience working within live operational or critical environmentsExposure to healthcare infrastructure, refurbishment, or technically complex schemes would be advantageous Desirable Qualifications Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related disciplineProfessional membership with organisations such as the Association for Project Management or Chartered Institute of BuildingExperience working within a main contractor or tier-one contractor environment What’s on Offer Senior-level opportunity within a supportive and collaborative teamGenerous salary and benefits packageHybrid working arrangementOffice location in Farringdon, LondonOpportunity to work on major, high-profile infrastructure and construction projectsExcellent long-term career development prospects If you meet the above criteia we encourage you to apply!Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
