What you will do:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Family Support & Child Protection Team, overseeing a team of social workers to ensure the safeguarding and promotion of children's best interests.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff in implementing changes to policies, procedures, and departmental developments.
  • Supervise the allocation, workload distribution, and care management practice within your team, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child remains paramount.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings with team members to monitor performance, care plans, and quality, taking remedial action when necessary.
  • Promote interdepartmental and external agency partnerships to achieve best outcomes for children and young people, including court representation and strategic planning.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, ensuring all actions align with established policies and legislation.
