What you will do

  • Manage and lead a team of social workers and personal advisors, ensuring that casework is conducted in the best interest of each child.
  • Oversee the distribution and prioritisation of the team’s workload, utilising each member's skills and capabilities effectively.
  • Conduct regular supervision and appraisal meetings to monitor performance and take necessary action to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain communication within the team through regular meetings to discuss cases, review performance, and share updates on corporate directives.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, representing the service in court when necessary to ensure care plans are in the child's best interest.
  • Chair case meetings and reviews, ensuring they align with the safety and wellbeing of the child.
  • Report regularly on management data to track service activity and quality.
  • Enforce compliance with policies on diversity, equal opportunities, and Health & Safety, demonstrating leadership qualities and role modelling acceptable behaviour.
  • Ensure efficient management of referrals, service activity, and service-user information within the appropriate systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate social care plans to maintain quality and address any identified gaps or issues promptly.
