What you will do:

  • Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessments, advice, and interventions for school-aged children and young people.

  • Manage a defined caseload of children with speech, language, communication, and complex developmental needs.

  • Deliver evidence-based therapy programmes tailored to individual needs and outcomes.

  • Provide written and verbal feedback to families, schools, and other professionals regarding assessment findings, progress, and recommendations.

  • Use recognised speech and language therapy outcome measures to monitor and evaluate progress.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, educational staff, and multidisciplinary professionals to support children's development.

  • Make informed clinical decisions regarding therapy provision, intervention strategies, and support pathways.

  • Set, review, and monitor achievable targets for children and young people's communication development.

  • Support, supervise, and mentor junior Speech and Language Therapists, therapy assistants, and students where appropriate.

  • Contribute to service development initiatives and support the implementation of best practice, policies, and quality improvements.

  • Manage complex cases, undertaking detailed assessments, care planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records in accordance with HCPC and organisational standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.

  • Current HCPC registration.

  • Experience working with school-aged children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs.

  • Experience managing complex communication cases within educational or community settings.

  • Excellent assessment, intervention, communication, and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be desirable due to travel requirements between settings.
