Job Title: Locum Solicitor - Litigation (Housing)

Southern Housing, a leading housing association, is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a talented Solicitor specialising in Housing Litigation to join its dynamic Legal Services team. Based in the vibrant area of London EC1M, this role offers a hybrid working environment, allowing for a blend of office-based and remote work as agreed with the line manager. Earning £414.27 per day, you will dive into a challenging and varied caseload over an initial 12-week contract period.

What you will do:
- Handle a diversified caseload including anti-social behaviour injunctions, possession proceedings, and tenancy fraud claims.
- Engage in drafting legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements, claim forms, defences, and trial bundles.
- Conduct advocacy tasks where appropriate, excluding trials, and manage external solicitors and counsel.
- Provide legal training and updates for colleagues while mentoring junior team members to foster a knowledgeable work environment.

What you'll need:
- A qualified solicitor with a current Law Society practising certificate, or a barrister with a Bar Council certificate for conducting litigation.
- Proven expertise in housing law and litigation, with strong legal drafting skills.

Rate and Hours:
- £414.27 per day (umbrella, inside IR35)
- 35 hours per week
- Start date: 09/11/2026 for a 12-week engagement

Location:
Fleet House, 59-61 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5LA, with a hybrid working agreement available.
