What you will do

• Fostering Assessments: Undertake comprehensive Fostering Assessments, Connected Carer Assessments, Form K Assessments, and Viability Assessments.
• Carer Supervision: Provide regular supervision and support to Mainstream Foster Carers and Connected Carers.
• Annual Reviews: Complete Annual Reviews to ensure fostering arrangements continue to meet required standards and outcomes.
• Panel Participation: Attend and contribute to Fostering Panels, presenting assessments and recommendations where appropriate.
• Support and Guidance: Offer ongoing advice, support, and professional guidance to foster carers.
• Training Delivery: Participate in carer training programmes and support the development of fostering skills and knowledge.
• Recruitment Activities: Assist with fostering recruitment initiatives and promotional activities to attract prospective carers.
• Safeguarding: Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, managed, and addressed in accordance with statutory guidance and policy.
• Case Recording: Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality records, assessments, and reports.
• Partnership Working: Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience: Previous experience within Children's Social Care, fostering services, or kinship care services.
• Assessment Skills: Experience completing fostering, connected person, or kinship assessments is highly desirable.
• Safeguarding Knowledge: Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding legislation, and children's services practice.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Relationship Building: Ability to establish positive working relationships with foster carers, children, and partner agencies.
• Organisational Skills: Strong time management and case management abilities within a busy service environment.
