What you will do

Medicines Management: Provide medicines reconciliation and medicines management support to patients on wards.
Accuracy Checking: Undertake Accuracy Checking Technician duties within the dispensary, ensuring safe and accurate dispensing processes.
Ward Support: Work closely with ward teams to optimise medication management and support patient care.
Discharge Planning: Liaise with clinical staff regarding discharge medications to facilitate safe and timely patient discharge.
Cancer Services Support: Assist the pharmacy cancer centre with prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, and related pharmacy services.
Team Collaboration: Work alongside pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare professionals to deliver a high-quality pharmacy service.
System Compliance: Utilise Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) systems effectively within daily practice.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with medicines governance, pharmacy procedures, and patient safety requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

ACT Qualification: Accredited Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification is essential.
Experience: Minimum of 12 months' recent hospital experience as a Medicines Management Technician (MMT).
EPMA Knowledge: Experience using Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) systems.
Registration: Current professional registration as required for pharmacy practice.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise workloads and manage responsibilities across multiple sites.
Driving Requirement: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the multi-site nature of the role.
