What you will do

• Manage a caseload of looked-after children and young people, ensuring their needs are fully assessed and reviewed.
• Undertake statutory visits to children in care and monitor their welfare, development, and placement stability.
• Develop and implement effective care plans that reflect each child's wishes, feelings, identity, culture, and individual circumstances.
• Complete assessments and contribute to permanence planning, including reunification, kinship care, adoption, and long-term fostering.
• Participate in Looked After Children Reviews and ensure agreed actions are completed within required timescales.
• Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, families, education, health services, and partner agencies.
• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, risks, and changes in circumstances.
• Promote placement stability and intervene proactively where placements are at risk of breakdown.
• Support children and young people to maintain appropriate relationships with parents, siblings, and significant individuals.
• Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their voices remain central to all decisions and planning processes.
• Support young people in preparing for independence and transition into adulthood where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records and documentation.
• Prepare reports for reviews, meetings, panels, court proceedings, and statutory processes.
• Work in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, council policies, and Social Work England standards.
• Contribute to effective multi-agency working and information sharing.
• Attend supervision, team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
• Manage workload effectively, prioritising work according to risk, need, and statutory timescales.
