What you will do:

  • Conduct complex and comprehensive assessments, including Regulation 24 Assessments, Connected Person Assessments, and Special Guardianship Order Assessments.
  • Prepare thorough analytical reports evaluating carers' capacities to meet children's physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Present assessment reports to the Fostering Panel and the Court as required.
  • Effectively manage your workload to ensure all statutory and organisational deadlines are met.
  • Support kinship foster carers through the assessment process by helping them understand the dynamics of Kinship Foster Care, their responsibilities, and available post-order support.
  • Collaborate with Children's Social Work Teams, Local Authorities, multidisciplinary professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Participate in supervision and contribute positively as a team member, fostering a culture of teamwork and support.

Qualifications / Requirements:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate social worker with excellent communication skills, capable of confidently managing emotionally complex situations. Ideal candidates will have experience within Children's Services and a strong commitment to person-centred practice.

  • Social Work England Registration: Essential.
  • Qualification: Degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Multidisciplinary Experience: Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Children's Services Experience: Sound knowledge and practical experience in delivering social work support to children and families.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Care Planning: Experience in planning, coordinating, and reviewing effective social care plans.
  • Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
