Social Worker - Early Help Team in Brent (UK), £37.52 Hourly for 3 months.

The London Borough of Brent is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join their Early Help Team. With this role based at the Brent Civic Centre (HA9 0FJ), you will play a crucial part in supporting families and children through life's challenges. The position offers flexibility around core hours 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, allowing you to work in a way that suits your lifestyle, whether full-time or part-time, with options such as compressed work weeks or varied start times.

What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive core assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Carry out Section 47 child protection investigations and report writing for court purposes, such as Section 7 and 37 reports.
  • Represent the authority in court proceedings, providing expert evidence and support.
  • Perform home visits to monitor situations and safeguard children diligently.
  • Engage in up-to-date case recordings and chair core group meetings to discuss ongoing cases.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of other professionals, ensuring joint investigations and interviews with law enforcement are thorough and effective.
  • Initiate and manage care proceedings, reviewing and implementing robust Care Plans.
  • Supervise visiting times for children and families, writing comprehensive reports for case conferences.
  • Attend various strategic meetings and complete necessary Child in Need plans.
