This is a key role managing a Children & Families caseload of various levels of complexity. This involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate action, contributing to the effective application of resources to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and their families.

What you will do:
- Take charge of all tasks allocated by the Team Manager in working with children, young people, their families, and carers.
- Utilize your expertise in professional social work knowledge and skills.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including complex cases requiring assessments, reviews, report preparation, and court attendance.
- Provide innovative support and advice to children, young people, their families, and carers following the principles of the 1989 Children’s Act.
- Conduct quality assessments of individuals and families, analyzing strengths and risks.
- Craft plans to meet assessed needs and risks, leveraging the strengths of children and their families.
- Execute plans to safeguard children and bolster the capacity and resilience of parents or carers.
- Respond to crises and assist in developing services for children and families.
- Collaborate with your team to develop and refine service delivery.
- Supervise students and foster effective relationships with partner agencies.
- Continuously develop your professional skills and maintain up-to-date, accurate records.
- Stay informed about legislative changes and apply them in your practice.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and uphold the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant frontline experience in UK Social Services as a qualified Social Worker.
