Role Purpose
Provide high-quality social work services by undertaking assessments, safeguarding interventions, and care planning for children and young people referred to the Duty and Assessment Team. Ensure statutory compliance and promote positive outcomes through effective multi-agency collaboration.
What You Will Do

Undertake initial assessments and investigations following referrals, identifying needs, risks, and protective factors.

Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns, providing advice, support, and intervention as required.

Make professional judgements regarding risk levels and next steps in line with statutory frameworks and local policies.

Develop and implement care plans and support strategies tailored to individual needs.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records compliant with legislation, policy, and procedures.

Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and voluntary sector partners.

Provide guidance, advice, and support to families, carers, and service users.

Attend and contribute to meetings, conferences, and court proceedings as necessary.

Keep abreast of legislation, guidance, and best practice to ensure informed decision-making.

Support service development through feedback, reflective practice, and participation in audits and quality assurance activities.
Requirements
-
Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration.

Degree in Social Work or equivalent professional qualification.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Duty and Assessment team.

At least 3 years’ experience in a permanent post within a local authority.
-
Not held a permanent or fixed-term post within the last 12 weeks.
