What You Will Do

• Manage a complex caseload of looked after children, ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of each child.

• Complete statutory assessments, care plans, and reviews in compliance with legal standards, ensuring the child's voice is central to all processes.

• Promote stability through effective care planning, considering options like long-term fostering or adoption.

• Identify and mitigate safeguarding risks, leading strategy discussions and implementing protective measures.

• Conduct complex court work, preparing statements and representing the local authority in proceedings.

• Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the children's education, health, and emotional needs.

• Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced colleagues, fostering a culture of high professional standards and reflective practice.

• Maintain thorough and compliant case records, contributing to audits and service improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

• Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.

• Post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, specifically with looked after children.

• Proven track record in care planning, court work, and managing complex safeguarding issues.
