What You Will Do

Manage a complex caseload of looked after children, ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of each child.

Complete statutory assessments, care plans, and reviews in compliance with legal standards, ensuring the child's voice is central to all processes.

Promote stability through effective care planning, considering options like long-term fostering or adoption.

Identify and mitigate safeguarding risks, leading strategy discussions and implementing protective measures.

Conduct complex court work, preparing statements and representing the local authority in proceedings.

Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the children's education, health, and emotional needs.

Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced colleagues, fostering a culture of high professional standards and reflective practice.

Maintain thorough and compliant case records, contributing to audits and service improvement initiatives.
Person Specification

Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.

Post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, specifically with looked after children.

Proven track record in care planning, court work, and managing complex safeguarding issues.
