Location: Newport, South Wales (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £29.22 per hour (PAYE) | £39.16 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 12-week temporary assignment
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Seven Resourcing is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker – Children’s Services to join a busy and supportive team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting children, young people, and families while managing a varied and rewarding caseload.

The Role

As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred social care services in line with current legislation, policies, and best practice. You will manage a caseload of children and families, undertaking assessments, implementing care plans, and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families, including complex cases

  • Undertake assessments, reviews, and care planning in line with statutory requirements

  • Respond to referrals and take appropriate action in a timely manner

  • Work closely with children, families, and carers to deliver person-centred interventions

  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external agencies

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date case recording and documentation

  • Safeguard children and young people, ensuring their welfare remains the priority

  • Gather and utilise feedback from service users to improve outcomes and service delivery

  • Attend and contribute to meetings, case conferences, and reviews

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration

  • Experience working within Children’s Services or a similar setting

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation

  • Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload effectively

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
