About the Role:
Westminster Council is searching for two experienced and qualified Social Workers to bolster our Assessment Team. Functioning similarly to a Referral and Assessment unit, we are particularly keen to welcome candidates with relevant experience who can make a seamless transition and immediately contribute. Expect to play a crucial role in protecting children and supporting families through prompt and efficient assessments, while ensuring adherence to the latest Department for Education guidelines. This dynamic role is perfect for an experienced Social Worker looking to make a tangible impact.
What you will do:
- Conduct comprehensive child and family assessments in accordance with statutory mandates
- Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring interventions are timely and safeguarding measures are upheld
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners to secure high-quality outcomes
- Participate in a duty rota, committing to one full week per month at the office
- Maintain precise records and ensure compliance with Department for Education and local authority standards
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Proven experience in Referral and Assessment or a similar front-line social work position
- Strong grasp of child protection legislation and statutory guidance
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid model
Working Pattern:
This position offers a hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working from home. You’ll be expected to cover one full week per month in the office for duty purposes.
