What you will do:

• Lead, manage, and supervise a skilled team of practitioners to ensure effective oversight of complex casework involving child exploitation and missing children
• Drive high standards in risk assessment, safety planning, and interventions to ensure practices align with statutory safeguarding guidance and local protocols
• Coordinate and lead robust multi-agency responses, working in close collaboration with police, health, education, youth justice, and third sector partners
• Chair strategy meetings, risk assessment meetings, and other crucial decision-making forums for exploitation and missing cases
• Ensure the delivery of contextual and trauma-informed practice that addresses risks outside the home environment

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification
• Registered with Social Work England

Registration & Compliance:

• In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004 and statutory guidance, including Working Together to Safeguard Children
• Understanding of frameworks related to Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE), and missing children
• Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS and police vetting

Experience:

• Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, including complex safeguarding and exploitation cases
• Proven experience managing or supervising social work teams
• Demonstrable experience of working within multi-agency frameworks such as MACE and partnership safeguarding arrangements
• Track record of delivering service improvements and driving high-quality practice in a local authority setting
