What you will do:

- Collaborate closely with the Principal Social Worker to influence and support the delivery of high-quality service to children and families, leading the team by example
- Take the lead in mentoring newly qualified social workers undertaking their ASYE programme and student social workers on placement, supporting their development through reflective supervision, mentoring, and assessments
- Assist the Team Manager in managing team performance, identifying strengths and areas for development, and implementing strategies for improvement
- Act as a consultant on complex cases involving children and families, offering peer support and sharing expertise in decision-making and risk management
- Support the care proceedings process by ensuring quality and compliance in reports and assessments in conjunction with the Court Consultant
- Engage in audit activities and practice development projects to refine service delivery, introducing innovative solutions and strategic changes
- Promote and champion the organisation's equality, diversity, and inclusion policies, ensuring an inclusive and fair environment for everyone
