What you will do:

• Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, robust care planning, and targeted interventions.

• Manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs, offering specialised care and attention.

• Provide swift crisis intervention and adeptly respond to acute mental health presentations.

• Ensure safe and effective medication administration aligned with prescriptions and clinical policies.

• Collaborate closely with GPs, psychiatrists, prison staff, and a wider multidisciplinary team.

• Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant clinical records.

Person specification:

Qualifications:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

Registration & Compliance:

• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

• Must possess valid prison clearance.

• Enhanced DBS and Right to Work in the UK are essential.

Key Skills:

• Strong mental health assessment and risk management abilities.

• Capability to operate in secure, challenging environments.

• Excellent communication and therapeutic engagement skills.

• Competence in managing crisis situations with calm and effective measures.

• Sound professional judgement, resilience, and strong IT and clinical documentation skills.

Experience:

• Prior experience as an RMN in mental health settings is desired.

• Essential experience in a prison or secure environment.

• Proven experience in managing complex mental health cases and risks.

• Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration.
