We are recruiting a Deputy Team Manager in Safeguarding for a locum position in Liverpool, offering £40 hourly on a 3-month contract. This opportunity requires you to work 3 days per week in-office at Edge Hill, L7 1PH, where free car parking is just the icing on the cake. This non-case holding role demands an experienced and skilled Deputy Team Manager with a solid background in supervising and managing social workers, particularly within Children's Safeguarding. You will finesse your skills in managing risks within Child Protection while collaborating closely with our Team Manager to enhance practice, performance, and outcomes for children and young people.

What you will do:

- Support the Team Manager in overseeing approximately 10 social workers, ensuring smooth daily operations and decision-making.
- Lead and enhance practice and performance standards to improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Utilize your sound knowledge of relevant children's legislation, statutory guidance, processes, procedures, and frameworks.
- Assist in managing risk within Child Protection and uphold robust decision-making processes.
- Act as a Practice Educator, ideally, to mentor and guide less experienced team members.
- Drive quality assurance, ensuring all team practices align with local and national safeguarding standards.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging staff development and providing mentorship.

This role is perfect for someone with recent managerial experience as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager. Must possess a social work degree or equivalent with current Social Work England registration and significant frontline experience in children's services.
