Purpose of the Role
The Senior Social Worker will provide advanced statutory social work in a designated locality, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families. This role involves managing complex, high-risk cases, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to high-quality, child-centred services.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of children and families with complex safeguarding and child protection needs.

Undertake statutory assessments and engage directly with children and families to ensure their voices are heard.

Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior social workers and students.

Lead safeguarding investigations, risk assessments, and Section 47 enquiries.

Collaborate with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners to safeguard children.

Participate in audits, case file reviews, and quality assurance initiatives to support service improvement.
