Role overview:

• Deliver high-quality statutory social work practice with children, families, or adults

• Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and support to less-experienced practitioners

• Manage complex and high-risk cases, ensuring safe, effective, and proportionate interventions

What you will do:

• Manage a complex caseload involving significant levels of risk and need

• Undertake statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions in line with legislation and guidance

• Lead on complex decision-making and effective risk management

• Provide practice guidance, mentoring, and informal supervision to social workers and newly qualified staff

• Support quality assurance activities, audits, and practice development initiatives

• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, contributing to protection processes

• Apply key legislation including the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and Mental Capacity Act 2005
