This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a dedicated Fostering Team in Newham. Working core hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers, children, and families, while contributing to service improvement and professional development within the team. What you will do:

Manage a caseload of complex fostering cases, ensuring high standards and positive outcomes for children

Supervise and support student social workers in the role of Practice Educator

Mentor and coach team practitioners through advice, shadowing, and professional guidance

Support delivery of the Newham Together Vision and Strategic Improvement Plan for Children’s Services

Promote and embed restorative and relational practice using systemic tools within the Newham Together Practice Framework

Contribute to creating a culture where high-quality social work practice can flourish

Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve service priorities

Champion initiatives that improve outcomes for children, families, and care leavers
Requirements:

Social Work England registration
-
Significant post-qualifying experience within fostering or children’s social care

Experience managing complex cases and supporting less experienced practitioners

Strong knowledge of fostering legislation, guidance, and best practice
-
Commitment to restorative, relationship-based social work
