Senior Environmental Consultant in Buckinghamshire, South East

As they expand their consultancy capability, they're looking for an ambitious Senior Environmental Consultant to play a key role in delivering environmental excellence across some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to take ownership of complex projects, influence sustainable outcomes from the earliest design stages, and help shape the future direction of a growing consultancy team. You'll be trusted to lead environmental assessments, engage with key stakeholders, mentor junior colleagues and drive innovative solutions across projects spanning the transport, water, energy and telecoms sectors.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading Environmental Delivery on High-Profile Projects: Take ownership of environmental assessments and deliverables across major infrastructure schemes, influencing decisions from concept through to project delivery.
• Driving Sustainability, Carbon & Biodiversity Innovation: Champion initiatives that create measurable environmental improvements, helping projects achieve ambitious sustainability, carbon reduction and biodiversity objectives.
• Becoming a Trusted Technical Expert: Provide specialist environmental advice to project teams, clients and stakeholders while leading the production and review of high-quality technical deliverables.
• Shaping the Growth of a Thriving Consultancy Team: Support business growth through developing new service offerings, improving processes and contributing to the expansion of an established environmental consultancy function.
• Mentoring the Next Generation of Environmental Talent: Play an influential role in developing junior team members, sharing expertise and helping build a high-performing environmental team.

Who They're Looking For:

• An Experienced Environmental Leader: Someone with a solid track record in environmental consultancy or pre-construction environments, including the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental studies.
• A Strategic Problem Solver: Able to navigate complex environmental challenges, identify opportunities and provide commercially practical solutions that add real value to projects.
• A Sustainability-Focused Professional: Passionate about driving improvements in sustainability, biodiversity and carbon performance across large-scale infrastructure projects.
• A Confident Communicator & Influencer: Comfortable building relationships with clients, regulators, planning authorities and multidisciplinary project teams while influencing positive environmental outcomes.
• An Ambitious Consultant Ready for the Next Step: Chartered, or working towards chartership, with the drive to take ownership, develop others and play a key role within a rapidly growing environmental consultancy team.
