Senior Environmental Advisor in Falmer, South East

Partnered with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure business delivering key utilities projects across Southern Water and South East Water, we're looking to support them to bring in a Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor, supporting their growing workload and help shape environmental performance across their sites.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of time out on projects, working closely with operational teams and stakeholders. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how sustainability is delivered on the ground while supporting wider business initiatives around Net Zero, compliance, and environmental performance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting Projects on the Ground – Working closely with site teams to provide practical environmental and sustainability advice across live projects.
• Keeping Sites Compliant – Carrying out regular inspections to ensure environmental legislation is being met and controls are in place.
• Building Effective Relationships – Liaising with clients, regulators, and subcontractors on environmental matters.
• Driving Key Initiatives – Supporting activities around carbon reduction, waste management, and sustainable practices.
• Tracking & Reporting Data – Monitoring environmental KPIs and helping to improve overall performance.

Who They’re Looking For:

• Relevant Industry Experience – Background in environmental or sustainability roles, ideally within construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Good Technical Understanding – Knowledge of environmental compliance, risk mitigation, and Net Zero principles.
• Confident Communicator – Comfortable engaging with site teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive Approach – Able to work independently and manage priorities across multiple sites.
• Genuine Interest in Sustainability – Someone motivated to make a positive impact and continue developing their knowledge.
