We are recruiting experienced Mechanical Project Managers for a range of major construction and building services projects across Australia. The Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects from design and pre-construction through procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

You will manage project safety, programme, commercial performance, quality and client relationships whilst ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of medium to large-scale mechanical building services projects from design through to completion.
Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and overall project performance.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, principal contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure contractual obligations and project requirements are understood and delivered.
Identify and manage commercial, contractual and operational risks.
Oversee design development, procurement activities and technical documentation.
Manage cost forecasting, budgets, variations, claims and commercial reporting.
Lead project teams and provide technical and operational direction throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend client, contractor and site meetings, providing regular updates on programme, cost and project performance.
Coordinate technical solutions with engineering, design and construction teams.
Monitor project progress, labour performance and resource allocation.
Ensure quality standards are achieved and non-conformances are managed appropriately.
Oversee testing, commissioning, handover and defects liability obligations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Experience & Requirements

We are interested in speaking with experienced Project Managers from the mechanical, HVAC, MEP and building services sectors.

Applicants must hold a recognised Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering. A degree in Mechanical Engineering is an essential requirement for this position, and candidates without a Mechanical Engineering degree will not be considered.

Candidates should also demonstrate:

A minimum of 4 years' experience managing medium to large-scale mechanical or MEP construction projects.
Strong experience delivering HVAC, mechanical building services or MEP projects.
Experience working for major contractors, specialist mechanical contractors or Tier 1 construction organisations.
Proven experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
Strong commercial awareness including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, contractual administration and variations management.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
Strong understanding of construction programmes, procurement and project planning.
Excellent problem-solving, organisational and leadership skills.
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Please note: A recognised Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. Candidates holding trade qualifications only, HNC/HND qualifications only, or degrees in other disciplines will not be considered.
