We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Stoke-on-Trent. The school is committed to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, and love of learning.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and pupils, providing classroom support and helping children to engage positively with their learning.

Your Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils across the primary age range
  • Assisting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence and independence
  • Supporting children who may require additional learning support
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Preparing and organising classroom resources
  • Supporting pupils during break and lunch periods where required
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Ideal Candidate

You will be:

  • Experienced in or passionate about working with children
  • A confident and effective communicator
  • Patient, caring, and approachable
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and professional
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Comfortable working as part of a wider school team
  • Committed to supporting children's academic and personal development

Previous experience working within a primary school, nursery, childcare, SEN, or youth setting would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with transferable experience are also welcomed.
