Occupational Therapist – Paediatric Team, Abingdon/Didcot (UK), £38 Hourly, Full Time, 3 Months Initially.

What you will do:

• Conduct specialised OT housing assessments and interventions tailored for babies, children, and adolescents with diverse needs, including physical, developmental, and learning challenges.
• Utilise legislation such as the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 and Childrens Act 1989 to provide expert assessment and advice, managing tasks through a problem-solving approach.
• Recommend Disabled Facilities Grants to District Councils under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
• Manage complex cases independently within an interdisciplinary and multi-agency setting.
• Deliver advanced knowledge and skills while planning and designing major adaptations for a designated caseload.
• Provide specialist guidance to colleagues in Health, Education, and Social Care regarding the needs of disabled children.
• Assess and advise on risk reduction for children and their carers, considering Health & Safety and safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive records in line with professional standards and organisational guidelines.
• Prepare court reports and provide evidence during legal proceedings as necessary.

To be successful, experience as a Housing OT or Children's OT is crucial. Being a registered HCPC is essential, and having the ability to drive is highly desirable to support visits within the community.
